Shelley Haus Invitational - Golf Charity Event
Street banner promoting the event.
I designed a series of flyers, welcome signage, and a custom logo for the Annual Shelley Haus Invitational, which we started two years ago —a golf scramble fundraiser honoring the memory of Shelley Haus. The event brought together over 100 participants and raised significant funds for cholangiocarcinoma research.
Logo Development – Shelley Haus Invitational
The green color palette was chosen with purpose; green is the awareness color for cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer), the disease this fundraiser supports. Using green throughout the logo, banners, and flyers tied the design directly to the cause, giving the event a visual identity that was not only professional and cohesive but also deeply meaningful. The shade of green evokes both the golf course setting and the ribbon of cancer awareness, bridging the sport and the purpose behind the fundraiser.
I explored several iterations of the Shelley Haus Invitational logo to capture both the spirit of golf and the purpose of the fundraiser.
Early drafts experimented with different typefaces, weights, and alignments to balance readability with a sense of motion.
Middle variations tested italicized and script styles to bring in energy and elegance, while refining spacing between the golfer icon and text.
Final logo (rightmost) achieves a clean, modern look: bold sans-serif type for clarity, consistent alignment with the swinging golfer mark, and strong contrast for visibility across print and digital applications.
The evolution reflects a process of simplification and refinement until the logo felt professional, memorable, and versatile for use on banners, flyers, and event materials.
